Yoga for Slow Living invites an exploration of the body/mind connection by focusing on the importance of mindfulness. Paying attention to the breath, to sensations in the body, and to feelings and thoughts as they arise, creates opportunities to slow down and bring greater attention to what's happening in the moment. It is here that life can become more fully experienced and appreciated.

A Yoga for Slow Living practice includes techniques such as gentle movement, breathing exercises, meditation and guided relaxation.  These tools can help to manage physical tension, cope with emotional and mental stress, increase concentration, strength and flexibility, and often create a feeling of peace and well being. As you develop a sense of relaxed awareness on the yoga mat, it becomes easier to find in day to day living as well.

Some of the techniques practiced will include a variety of different gentle yoga stretches, Restorative Yoga poses, guided Yoga Nidra relaxation, and meditation. No yoga or meditation experience is necessary.

Also consider Rhoda's one-day Restorative Yoga Therapy training on Sunday, July 15.
