Our Mission

Grateful Yoga's Hatha based classes could be described in the following ways:

mindful, breath-centered, slow-flowing, alignment attentive, warm but not hot, spacious, accommodating to individual needs, meditative, carefully planned, welcoming, non-denominational, joyful, compassionate.

Grateful Yoga's intention is:

  • To offer practices that help our students live a more joyful and balanced life.
  • To provide a safe, comfortable and clean environment that is welcoming to all ages and abilities.
  • To relieve pain and stress, and support healing through the therapeutic application of yoga.
  • To be a community resource for prenatal and postpartum holistic health.
  • To provide yoga, volunteers, resources and nutritional education to high-needs foster kids in residential care at the Rice Child and Family Center of Evanston.

Along with our classes, we offer individual yoga instruction and yoga therapy for students who wish to refine their practice or delve deeper. We offer customized therapeutic yoga programs to support treatment of injuries or chronic conditions.  We also facilitate an innovative 8-week stress relief program that combines yoga, mindfulness and home practice in a supportive group environment.
