Birthing from Within

Featuring Yoga, Meditation and Pain-Coping Practices for Labor

Prepare for birth as a sacred rite of passage, not a medical event, through Birthing From Within. These classes, led by a registered nurse and certified yoga instructor, provide a multi-sensory approach to childbirth preparation, bringing heightened awareness and confidence to birth and parenting. You and your partner will have the opportunity to ask questions about birth in an environment that is not related to the hospital. The essence of the class is self-discovery, with the parents' individual needs and differences determining class content. Yoga-based movement and meditation practices will comprise 1/4 of the class, with the rest providing information that expectant couples need to know about their upcoming birth and transition into parenthood.

Experience a childbirthing class that is led by experts in the birth and healthcare fields, and meet other couples looking to create a positive birth environment.

What people have said

My wife had a 180-degree switch in class: from fear and lack of vision, to confidence, acceptance of whatever comes up, and a sense of wonder and anticipation for our upcoming birth. ~ Ian

What helped most was staying in the moment and breathing into the pain. I could dilate more effectively when I was in the peaceful and surrendering state of mind that I learned in yoga. ~ Ana

About us

Colleen Marotta RN BSN
I began teaching childbirth education classes as a means to empower women to make informed decisions and prepare for the process of childbirth. After attending hundreds of births, I have witnessed how fears can follow women and men into the delivery room. By acknowledging all aspects of birth, emotional, physical, and spiritual, through a process of self-discovery, parents can find deeper strengths for their transition into birth and parenthood.
